The course engages with EU strategies and policies to counter internal and external threats, and promote peace and prosperity among members, in its neighborhood and internationally. The topics addressed include the theory and politics of integration, the use of financial, political and military aid and sanctions, and international alliance building. The course builds on historical and comparative perspectives with its main focus on contemporary EU adaptation to the Russia-Ukrainian War.
