Yaroslav Trofimov

Yaroslav Trofimov is a Ukrainian-born Italian author and journalist who serves as chief foreign-affairs correspondent at The Wall Street Journal. He is the author of three books of narrative non-fiction and one novel. In his newest book, Our Enemies Will Vanish. The Russian Invasion and Ukraine’s War of Independence, published in 2024, Trofimov traces the war’s decisive moments—from the battle for Kyiv to the more recently bloody arm wrestle involving the Wagner group over Bakhmut—to show how Ukraine and its allies have turned the tide against Russia.
