Chair Professor of Entangled History of Ukraine at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). He is a Director of the PRISMA UKRAЇNA Research Network Eastern Europe. He contributed to the development of the leading Ukrainian historic journal Ukraina Moderna. Professor Porntov devotes his academic passion to Eastern and Central Europe with a focus on intellectual history, historiography, genocide, and memory studies. He also has a YouTube channel dedicated to the history of Ukraine.
