Maria Banko is a PhD student in History at the Kyiv School of Economics, where she also earned an MA in Public History and Memory Studies. She is the author of the War Cookbook project and a researcher at the KSE Laboratory for Memory Studies and Public History. Her work focuses on the history of everyday life, food, and memory studies, with current research on Soviet public catering and culinary practices in communities shaped by deportation and forced migration.
