Dr. Dovile Sagatiene is a researcher focused on Soviet legal narratives and their role in the present-day public sphere and hybrid warfare. Since 2022 and until October 2024, Dovile has been a postdoctoral scholar at the Memocracy project, researching democratic dilemmas in articulation with memory legislation in Central and Eastern European countries. In her latest publications, Dovile addresses the debate on the Soviet genocide and transformations in memory of the Soviet crimes in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe, combining political and legal perspectives.
